LA TOUSSUIRE DESTINATION GUIDE

ABOUT THE LOCATION

Not all of your friends have heard of La Toussuire, and that’s a good thing. It’s an unsung, up-and-coming winter destination. Early birds who buy a property in La Toussuire soon will benefit from good value for money in a very large, high-altitude ski area which doesn’t experience the same crowds as its more well-known neighbours.

Sitting on a sunny plateau at 1,750m with stunning 360-degree views, snowsure La Toussuire has a long ski season that runs from the beginning of December to the end of April. At the heart of Les Sybelles and just an hour’s drive from Grenoble Airport, its convenient location makes properties in La Toussuire especially attractive for those seeking a base for weekend or last-minute ski breaks as well as extended stays.

A sporty resort, come snow or shine, La Toussuire is just as delightful in the summer and is a great destination for cycling enthusiasts.

INVESTMENT POTENTIAL

La Toussuire's real estate market offers excellent value for money with potential for strong appreciation. Plans are underway to connect Les Sybelles with Alpe d'Huez and Les Deux Alpes, creating the world's largest ski domain with nearly 800km of pistes.

Just over two hours from Alpe d'Huez by car, La Toussuire shares similarities such as high altitude, sun exposure, proximity to Grenoble Airport, and a similar-sized ski area.

However, La Toussuire stands out with more affordable new-build properties ranging from €6,000 to €9,000 per sqm, making it an attractive choice for budget-conscious buyers who love Alpe d'Huez.

HIGH ALTITUDE, LOW PRICES.

This project is set to have a positive impact on the local property market, increasing the demand for properties for sale in La Toussuire and the rental appeal of properties here.

HISTORY

The history of La Toussuire dates back to the early 20th century when skiing first became popular in the area.

The resort was officially founded in 1973 when a group of local entrepreneurs saw the potential for ski tourism in the region. Since then, La Toussuire has continued to grow and develop its ski area, with the addition of new lifts and accommodations.

Today, La Toussuire is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, affordable prices, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

The village has a range of accommodations, including hotels, chalets, and apartments, all within easy walking distance of the ski slopes.

La Toussuire also has a variety of restaurants and bars, serving up delicious regional cuisine and après-ski drinks. The village has several shops, including ski rental and equipment stores, as well as a supermarket and pharmacy for convenience.
