Châtel – Lion d’Or

€355,000 - €800,0002-4 bedroomsSold Out

Revitalisation is happening all over Châtel, but it’s not just limited to the new wave of ski and leisure infrastructure hitting the resort. Superbly located existing buildings are also being transformed and this is just the case with the historic Lion d’Or.

Twelve apartments, each as special as the next, are being created as part of transformation of a longstanding hotel situated on the site of Châtel first ever ‘Auberge’ (inn).

Designed with families in mind the properties are large, ranging in size from two to four bedrooms. And the location is simply perfect, in front of the church with every daily need on the doorstep and literally seconds from the Super-Châtel ski lift.

Playing on the old and new, the interiors at Lion d’Or pay homage to the retained Savoyard atmosphere for which Châtel is so renowned. Wood is a dominant feature, but instead of the traditional use normally seen in alpine property developments, here these features create clean lines and strong edges.

The result is a modern twist on alpine comfort, homely yet practical using every inch of space to its full potential. Light is also used well, with large open glazing letting light flood inside. Ten of the twelve apartments have outside space, essentially viewing platforms that exploit the vistas across the village and the valley beyond.
