A family-friendly resort with a “Famille Plus Montagne'' label to prove it, the pretty Alpine village of Châtel lies on the Franco-Swiss border just a short drive from Geneva International Airport. Completely unspoilt with traditional Abondance chalets made from spruce wood throughout the resort, the village lies in the heart of a farming community which has been producing delicious Châtel cheese for over 100 years.

First developed as a ski resort in 1948, today Châtel is linked to the Portes du Soleil ski domain and offers easy access to over 650 km of pistes for skiers of all levels. One of the biggest domains in the world, the Portes du Soleil gives visitors access to a full range of winter activities including fun runs, speed slopes and snow parks plus easy access to heliskiing and freeride sessions just over the border in Switzerland.

The chalet

A traditional Alpine chalet set over three floors, this spacious five-bedroom property in Châtel is completely ready to move into. Built from spruce wood with a gently sloping roof and two large balconies, the chalet is sold tastefully furnished.
The main entrance of the property is situated on the upper floor of the chalet where you’ll find two double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a private office with a pull-out couch and a ski room. This floor also has access to the chalet’s large garage while additional parking spaces are available in the grounds of the property.

Stairs lead to the main floor of the chalet which features a fully-equipped open-plan kitchen and a spacious lounge and dining area for twelve finished in light wood panelling with exposed beams and a modern fireplace. A large wrap-around terrace is the ideal space for enjoying an al fresco lunch overlooking the mountains.

A smaller formal living room leads off the main lounge and there is also a large family games room on this floor with a guest bathroom and a Scandinavian sauna where you can relax and unwind after a hard day on the slopes. On the lower floor of the chalet, you’ll find three double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a storage room plus a fully equipped laundry room.
