Rooms by the river: Paris welcomes its first floating hotel
Designed by specialist architects Seine Design, ‘OFF Seine’ is the first floating hotel ever built in France. Feature 54 double rooms and 4 suites it is docked near the Gare d’Austerlitz on the eastern end of the Seine as it cuts through central Paris.
The four star hotel offers beautiful riverside views from its bar and rooms, with a dipping pool and lots of unique areas from which to enjoy the craft’s stunning architecture. The boat is part of a wider plan to bring people back to the river by using restaurants boats, bars and other offerings to create new destinations along the Seine.
Around 400 sqm of embankment has been allocated to the floating hotel by the city and at 80m long and 20m wide it is currently the largest vessel moored on the Seine.
The cost? Double rooms go from €160 (£132) in low season and rise to €469 (£388) in the high season.
