Le Refuge de Solaise - Val d'Isère's highest new hotel08 February
At 2551m, atop the summit of Val d'Isère’s world-renowned mountain, the new Le Refuge de Solaise will become the highest hotel in the French Alps. Formerly the arrival hut of the Solaise cable car, the building has been entirely redeveloped to create a full-scale hotel of 10 rooms and 6 apartments between 150 sqm and 250 sqm. There is also an additional dormitory room with 14 beds, ideal for large groups or functions. The new build project and exciting investment opportunity will offer breathtaking 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains and the Val d'Isère village below. Due to its high position, perched a whole 80 metres higher than the town centre, Le Refuge de Solaise will enjoy the sunniest spot in the resort, benefiting from a whole five hours more of sun than any other property in the resort.
The architecture of the hotel has been carefully designed in order to fit as harmoniously in with the surrounding mountains as possible by largely using stone, wood, and slate. The project will also maintain the spirit of the former cable car station, incorporating the use of metal, cogs, and mechanisms, evocative of the building’s previous role.
Accessible only on ski or by the Solaise gondola in winter (in summer it is accessible by car), Le Refuge de Solaise creates a unique experience for holidaymakers in such close proximity to the mountains. The hotel will have its own on-site restaurant, bar, cinema projection area, children’s playroom and a superb spa.
A sister hotel, named Base Camp in the centre of Val d'Isère, will be finished in December 2019, adding another 50 hotel rooms to the brand. Boasting undoubtedly the best views in Val d'Isère, in an intimate and unique location, Le Refuge de Solaise presents an opportunity like no other in the French Alps.
