Pézenas was the first town in France to be protected as a historical sight. Today, it still stands largely unspoilt by modern developments. Properties in the area are still full of lovely details and charming fixtures, from iron balconies to stone staircases. The town caters to young families, so other than historical monuments it has invested largely in the Museum of Toys, an arts and crafts centre. Markets are filled with knick-knacks kids cannot get enough of. In addition, the restaurants are rich in aromas and French flavours.

Although there are not many nightclubs that run long into the night, the locals dine until the wee hours, laughing and talking over a glass of local wine. Purchasing a property in the region is like stepping back in time, and many young families appreciate the friendly and quaint lifestyle of Pézenas.
