Montgenèvre is a family resort at the altitude of 1,860m. It boasts an abundance of charm and authentic alpine village character with the advantage of being linked to the vast international ski area that is La Voie Lactée. Alone it extends to 75km of ski area and is quite varied, from safe beginners’ areas to more intermediate slopes in the Gondrans sector.

It used to be known as the rendezvous point for the Parisian jet set in the late 1930s and early 1940s and to this day still sees a lot of French tourists, being the only French resort connected to the 2006 Winter Olympic site in Sestriere.

It offers a rustic and quiet charm, with a myriad of cheerful cafes and bars, in a traffic-free environment. This is a major attraction for families, as it is safe for the little ones. Montgenèvre is quite compact so getting around town is very easy and is a big benefit for tourists looking to visit for the slopes.

The summer months are filled with tourists looking to hike the mountains, to play golf, to luge the Monty Express and even take a ride on an ATV.
