Driven by his passion for property and international business, Roman founded Athena Advisers in 2003 in a bid to remove the prohibitive cultural barriers present in the international property industry. Athena has now grown into a highly regarded international property sales network and advisory specialising in new-build and refurbished property.
Roman spends a lot of his time curating new projects at the inception stage, creating destination-making concepts for property and leisure projects and resorts. He has advised on international property projects in Brazil, France, Morocco & Italy. With a Bsc in Management at Leonard de Vinci University IIM in Paris, Roman started his first business at the age of 22, a France-based online comparison website which was acquired by PriceRunner.com in 2002. He stays true to his entrepreneurial roots by continuing to invest in and advise internet start-ups.
With an undergraduate degree in French, Spanish & Business and a post-graduate diploma in Law, Nick worked in equity sales at Morgan Stanley, followed by a start-up internet company before joining Athena in 2003 as a founding partner.
Since its inception, Nick has built a direct sales team and an international network of introducers for Athena over-seeing sales of more than €500m. He has an intimate knowledge of the property investment industry and continues to develop business in the UK and internationally through key strategic partnerships while also advising his clients. Nick has spoken at several property and alternative investment seminars and is widely quoted in the real estate and financial press.
Camille works closely with property developers on a consultancy basis, particularly in the French Alps, Paris and the South, helping them to create property developments that will appeal to the international demand that is prevalent for each specific location.
Always looking for the best solutions for our investors, he advises on the best ways to invest in French property and always understands how the latest changes in taxation and law will affect our business.
Camille has a Masters in French Property Law (Master des professions Immobilieres).
With a BA in English and an MSc in Physical Science, Theresa is currently studying for a PhD in Theology & Science.
She is a published author and has written for a number of academic publishers, and has held key positions with various organisations across the UK
Theresa is a key member of our business and is responsible for all human resources and financial management across the organisation.
In additional to heading up the sales team, Niamh's diverse client-base means she travels extensively to all corners of the world. She has been selling European property since 2005 and has been with Athena since the company’s inception. As a result, she has played an integral part in the growth strategies which have enabled Athena to become the leading player within a highly competitive market.
Niamh has unrivalled knowledge of the various ways of investing in property across France and has specialist market knowledge of Paris, the Alps, the Cote d’Azur and also Lisbon. Her international mindset and experience of working with HNW investors means she is an expert when it comes to structuring the purchase of high-end properties around France. Niamh holds a BSc (Hons) in Computing Science and speaks fluent Turkish.
Adeline has more than 8 years’ experience in marketing and communication in a B2B and B2C environment. Before joining the team, she has travelled to various countries and worked in different sectors planning and implementing marketing strategies to reach out international audiences. She is now leading the marketing functions for the entire business, defining international product strategies and using a variety of modern marketing techniques to find different key audiences which are crucial to the business. From the latest digital tactics to traditional marketing platforms, she leads and plans the worldwide promotion of various real-estate projects.
Graduating from a Master’s in intercultural management from ISIT in Paris and having also studied international marketing in the University of Heidelberg in Germany, Adeline’s detail-oriented approach and cultural sensitivity are vital to communicate and market our products to our diversified audience.
Lloyd leads the communications functions for the business. He works with our developers around the world and our network of Destination Advisers to deliver strategic cross-continent marketing and communications campaigns for some of the most exclusive international property products and companies.
An expert in product and corporate messaging, he has the rare ability of being able to efficiently turn new projects into attractive saleable commodities with an engaging position in the marketplace.
Alice is a natural communicator with a creative mind. She graduated in Marketing from Parsons School of Design in NY in 1997 and since then has always worked in the media. She lived 10 of those years between Spain, Paris and Milan, where she worked as a fashion stylist for major publications and advertising clients, and has been living in Rio de Janeiro since 2007. For nine years she was the fashion editor of the Sunday magazine of one of Brazil's main newspapers, O Globo, which granted her unlimited access to the local press and helped her create an ample network of contacts in many fields.
Being the daughter of a diplomat, she has had the opportunity to travel and live abroad in many countries, giving her an international background - a useful tool in merging the European and Brazilian aspects of her work for Athena taking care of marketing and PR in Brazil. She is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and also speaks French.
Charles spearheads Athena’s operations from the French Alps, liaising with developers and meeting with international clients throughout the year. Charles hails from Paris and is passionate about the Alps, and almost all his work at Athena involves these two areas. Charles has worked at Athena for 5 years and still manages to master every detail of the entire property portfolio. He is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to market information and throughout the organisation he is commonly known as Mr Efficient.
With two Masters Qualifications in Business Law and Taxation, one from Paris Pantheon-Assas and another from Euromed Marseille, Charles-Antoine manages partner agents and his VIP list of investors who see him as a highly reliable and knowledgeable adviser.
Born and raised in France, with French-Caribbean roots, Clementine studied international trade in Lyon and worked in Rome, London & Istanbul before returning to Paris. A multi-skilled and resourceful communications specialist, Clementine has thirteen years of professional experience overseas, which has shaped her to understand cultural differences and deliver cross-continent solutions to the most demanding clientele.
Clementine works across Paris’ 20 Arrondissements, giving Athena’s international partner clients access to the best handpicked new-build and resale property opportunities. She also works with Francophone investors around the world looking to help them secure assets in Paris, but also locations like Mauritius & Lisbon.
With a solid background in sales and business administration environments within a wide range of sectors, Carlota heads up Athena's base in Lisbon.
She works hand-in-hand with her international client-base and Athena's Lisbon developer contacts, connecting them with the right investment opportunities across this increasingly popular city for foreign investment.
Having finished university in 2002 with a BA Honors in French, Spanish & International Marketing, Charlie first worked in land acquisitions in London for UK developers. He then decided to use his degree more thoroughly and became a sales consultant at Pierre & Vacances International in 2006. He moved to Experience International and successfully set up the French property sales desk in 2008 before settling with Athena in 2010. Charlie manages the partner agents for the Athena and also deals with a selection of private clients, helping them select the best second home and investment opportunities across our Alpine and Parisian markets.
With 10 years of experience in Risk Management within the property sector across European markets, particularly with French clients, Alex brings with him considerable understanding of the cultural differences between businesses and consumers either side of the channel.
Fluent in French, Alex is an expert at helping clients select the right property investments across our core markets of the Alps, Paris and Lisbon.
With over 8 years’ experience in marketing and communications, Alix has worked in several industries including entertainment, travel and property. Originally from France and England, she is bilingual in both English and French and also speaks Spanish and German. She has written for a number of publications from Metro newspaper to National Geographic. Based in our London office, Alix is responsible for all our Anglophone content for our properties in the international market.
With a BSc and MSc in Sociology, Alix's social studies and her international background play an essential role in understanding how to communicate with different audiences all over the globe.
Stephanie is the flag-bearer for our Lusophone marketing and communications channels. Originally from São Paulo in Brazil and based in our London headquarters she is the integral link between our office in Rio de Janeiro and the international marketing team in London. In addition to managing the flow of products being launched to our Portuguese speaking audiences she coordinates our Portuguese campaigns spanning everything from events (across SP, Rio, Curitiba, BH, Goiânia & more) newsletters, social media and website.
Graduated in business administration with focus in marketing at FAAP – Brazil has considerable experience working in large scale organisations and is now utilising this knowledge to grow the Portuguese speaking side of our business.
With over a decade years of design experience across diverse range of sectors, Olly has played a fundamental role in the branding of Athena Advisers. His talent for shaping existing and new projects into marketable and deliverable products is unsurpassed and he consistently creates refreshing new brand identities and advertising concepts for our new projects.
Olly studied at the ‘Higher School of Art and Design in Moscow’ and holds a BA in economics.
With over 30 employees across seven different locations worldwide, including four fixed offices, Denise uses her considerable experience in human resources and supplier management to effectively maintain Athena's working and business environments.
Having worked across a range of sectors including technology, gaming, startups and recruitment, Denise has a rare skill of being to quickly identify areas of improvement within all areas of a global business and implement strategies that have a significant impact on the bottom line.
Driven by his passion for arts Davide graduated at the University of Arts and Entertainment in Bologna (Italy). After University, he completed a masters in Film Making, which opened the door to the industry.
He now has over 10 years' experience, and has worked in the field, performing various roles, from Camera Operator to Director. His captivating filming, editing, and animation work, constantly help to visualise Athena Advisers’ concepts.
With a family background in real estate, Luiz has now established a real estate boutique angency called Maia+20, with a focus on bluechip clients, international corporations and government bodies such as the American embassy.
He met Roman Carel in 2016 and has been collaborating with Athena Advisers to host successful roadshows in Belo Horizonte and help provides essential knowledge of the Brazilian market.
